I am new at this and this is my third rod. I am using the Micro Wave guides. Is it better to use a larger thread on these or would a size B work ok. I go on the board everyday and have learned a lot and I would like to thank every one for their help. A lot of my questions may sound a little dumb but bare with me. Thanks Phil Re: single foot guids

If you're new to this and have trouble handling size A, using size B isn't going to hurt much of anything. Just keep the wraps short, starting them just off the end of the guide foot.
Size B thread may not be available in a wide variety of colors, of course. ..................... Re: single foot guids

If it's all you have, sure.
But in the long run get used to using size A thread. Better to get to know what your going to gravitate towards anyways. It just winds so much smoother and after burnishing looks like paint instead of small rope wrapped around the rod. I'm digging Pro Wrap Nylon right now for those very reasons. No fish eye problems with finish either. And its plenty strong to handle anything when wrapped right and tight! Re: single foot guids

John, I did watch the video and was very helpful and made me feel better about the wrap. Thanks to everyone who replied. I am using Carolina Blue thread and it was very difficult to find. I think I have B and D I found that at he rod show. It is going to be a one time thing with this color so I will use more A thread, it's difficult for me being 66 to deal with but if it was easy it would not be as good. Thanks again.
