rod guides on ferrule?

some of the rod guides are landing on ferrule. should I adjust this and if so how far from ferrule should they be.4wt fly Re: rod guides on ferrule?

that will happen with fly rod's you might have adj a little so the guide foot is not hanging off, look at the fly rod's in the local shops,
the high end ones, you will see what I mean , the more sections the rod has, you will see more of the problem you ask about William Sidney AK Re: rod guides on ferrule?

It's okay to have the guide on a ferrule, in fact there are reasons why it's actually preferred. Just slide it away from the very edge so as to allow you to incorporate your ferrule reinforcement wrap as part of the guide wrap.

I like it when guides end up there; less stress on that section of the rod that way. I make sure I have an appropriate sized reinforcement wrap on the female side of the ferrule, then I start the guide wrap. Take care, Chris Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
