I have a waterslide decal that I have printed. The instructions from the waterslide paper manufacturer states to use an acrylic varnish spray to prevent scratching/fading.
Question: Can I use flex coat color preserver instead, which is an acrylic color preserver and sealer???? thanks Re: waterslide decal / acrylic

In most cases, yes. The thing to do is try it and find out for sure. Depending on the type of decal paper and ink used, a water based CP may work just fine. In cases, however, it might not.

Test first! If you printed it by ink jet, the ink is water soluble and I believe the flex coat is water base. Re: waterslide decal / acrylic

Once dry, water based CP shouldn't affect it any more than water based cleaners affect water based paints. However your advice is still sound - test first and be sure.
