PROWRAP size 'B' thread

Building a 14' 10wt Spey rod with size 'b' thread. Visually it seems to be comparable to size 'a' while being somewhat easier to wrap. Who else has tried it and what are your thoughts?

I haven't used the "B" Prowrap yet. I got a small spool of it in my last order, but it wasn't the shade# I ordered. It does appear to be similar in size to the Gudebrod 'B". I especially like "B" for the wrap thread in weaves, tho I've wrapped guides w/ it, too. I'm glad they added it to their thread selection!

Just finished my first build using the B thread. I like it a lot, it's not much larger than A but I found it easier to use. It burnishes good and looks nice after the epoxy was applied. I thought it might be stronger for rods in the med hvy to hvy range although I haven't had any issues using A on them. I guess we'll see

I have several spools in various colors. I primarily use it to wrap my guides. I wish the black was blacker, looks a little hazy when finish is applied, overall a good product.

Spend some, save some, give some away!!! :-)

Arthur This is the B thread I used on a micro guide in black. It sure looks black and clear to me. Shows up nicely on the rod geeks blank in Metallic Red too. Not sure why yours would be hazy, what finish epoxy did you use?

Hi Tom, after going back and looking at the other 2 rods I used it on, for whatever reason just the first blank I did the B with looked like that. The others didn't...go figure. Oh, I use ProKote medium build. Maybe it's just me but, the ProKote seems to give me a crystal clear finish in comparison to Flexcoat and ThreadMaster.
