Just wondering what you all think is the best chemical to remove epoxy before it sets or drys. I have been using goo gone but wonder if there is something better.

Denatured alcohol gets my vote.

I used to clean all my brushes with DA but Not any more as I just toss the used one's in the trash as you can pick up a box of 50 at the craft store for only $5.00 so now I save on DA and time too.

I wipe as much as I can with small pieces of paper towels Then wet with Drug Store rubbing alchole to finish cleanning Never had any problems

I'm not fond of the smell of DNA, so I use Isopropyl Alcohol, in the highest percentage I can find, 91%-99%. When cleaning spilled epoxy or drips, not on a rod, I use paper towels with the iso. alcohol. When cleaning epoxy on a rod, I use the alcohol with Kimwipes. No dust or lint.

Goo gone contains the equivalent of Xylene, which is one of the best chemicals out there for thinning or cleaning epoxy, especially if it has began to harden.

Alcohol, as long as the epoxy has not begun to set works very well for cleaning epoxy of various types. However, do not use alcohol to thin epoxy, because it is NOT a good thinner and does not mix well with epoxy.

The downside of Xylene, is that it is quite toxic and the fumes are hazardous. So, if you do use the excellent Xylene, be sure to use adequate ventilation and preferably out of doors.

Please keep I mind proper disposal of all chemicals that you use.

Alcohol has the advantage of drying very quickly which makes finding epoxy that you missed cleaning up very fast and easy. For cleaning brushes, if you choose to, U40 brush cleaner is magic. It does not evaporate fast, so has little or no odor, and does a wonderful job on brushes.
