Single thread trim tip

I expect many know this, but since I didn't there are probably some that don't. What do you do if you want single thread trims on your wraps and you got the wraps done and forgot one? It is very easy to loop the thread over the blank right at the edge of the wrap with the double thread point where you will least see it, and put a TINY drop of UV curing epoxy (low viscosity) at that point. Cure it with the UV light while still holding it taut. Then carefully cut the excess off. You will have a single thread trim that to all but the most expert eyes will look just like it was pulled under. Finish will of course stabilize it.

Would a tiny drop of CA glue work as well?

I do all of my single thread wraps with CA glue. They look good to me.

CA is fine if you get it to reliably set. I sometimes have trouble with CA glue not setting up very fast. Not sure why. With the UV curing epoxy, it's solid in 15-20 seconds. Every time. There is an issue doing it this way if you are doing non-CP thread wraps. I'm not 100% sure the UV curing epoxy will result in the same color as wrapping epoxy if you get the UV cure into the main wrap. I think it's ok, but have not tested it yet.

The 5' Apogee blanks were made in UL action for spinning, and 5' UL for casting. Spinning were rated for 2-6 # test line, and the casting for 2-10# test. Lure wt. on spinning was 1/32-1/8 oz. On casting rated for 1/16-1/4 oz..
