Black thread problem

I just finished some butt wraps about 1/2 " wide using black nylon (no CP)-after the finish cured I noticed some of the individual thread bands had turned translucent to almost whiteish in color. The bands showed up enough through the wrap to ruin the job. I used a jewelers eyepiece and could see the bands packed correctly(no gaps). I checked the FC finish on the tin foil and it was perfectly clear. The trim bands were not affected at all. This is enough to make you spit!-It's too late to do anything about it. Any suggestions on why this happened? I still have the entire tip section to go and don't want to run into that problem again.

Sounds like bad thread that wasn't property dyed. Black thread wouldn't turn transparent otherwise.

Throw out the thread, buy new thread.
Strip the wraps and do it again.

Good luck
