I am building a medium-action spinning rod, for both freshwater (steelhead in rivers) and saltwater (coho off the beach).
I plan to use PacBay Minima fly guides as runners, either the solid-titanium frame w/chrome ring (TF3XG) or the TiCH-finish frame w/TiCH ring (CF4CG). They look similar to me. Any discernible differences between them, for the average angler? Re: Minima Running Guides- solid Titanium frame vs TiCH finish

Mr. Krause
The TF3XG has an uncoated solid titanium frame and hard chrome coated ring. The CF4CG has a stainless steel frame and ring that are both coated with TiCN PVD which makes them a dark grey. The TF3XG will be the lighter and more corrosion resistant of the two guides having the solid Ti frame. The weight savings from a solid Ti frame is less noticeable on small single foot guides like the F frame. I use the Minima F frame (in both type 3 and 4) on my own single and double handed fly rods, as well as my gear rods. I have been pleased with their performance. -The Batson TEAM BatsonEnterprises.com Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
