Have a client that wants a rod with Caneback Rattlesnake skin. So far my search has come up blank and I was wondering if anyone knows a source for this?? Is the Skin Shop still in business, have't been able to find it either??
Thanks Tom Re: Caneback Rattlesnake

I have some that I have tanned myself and used on rods. They are large skins. Let me know if you are interested. I can send pics if you need them. Re: Caneback Rattlesnake

Tom Canebreak is my favorite. Have my private stock from the big show perhaps 10 years ago. You really really need the very small and delicate skins and they HAVE to be tan correct. Don't fall for some of the skins on the bulk sale sights. I will get the name on the company I ordered from at the show. It's at my home shop. These guys are good and reasonable. Again only the small skins and dried very thin. Looks great though with the cane out! Re: Caneback Rattlesnake

I would like some info on those skins as well. Been doing some rods with cobra that look awesome. Like to do a canebrake rattler. I have done a western diamondback rattler that looks sweet as well. Re: Caneback Rattlesnake

worked with the cobra didn't like it as much. Diamond back looks good but again really has to be the little snakes as large or even medium diamond gets lost around the rod. My favorite has always been the canebreak though. That line is just so distinct. Tom, Barry, Rick, I will get that company's name for you. I have there catalog somewhere in my mess. lol Re: Caneback Rattlesnake

I wonder if having a rod like this would cause some people problems....Here in Texas, and a few other states, Canebrake's (Timber Rattler's) are protected and it is illegal to even possess the hide.
Just a thought. Tony Re: Caneback Rattlesnake
