I have a client who needs a rod for catfishing. I'm thinking a MHX flippin/piching XHeavy 8' blank.
Any suggestions. Her build budget is $140.00 total. It's a gift for her boyfriend. Re: Catfish Rod advice

Gifts for boyfriends and husbands are a difficult build. You don't know how he fishes, the reel he might use, how long to make the handle, and the list of what he likes in a rod goes on. Try to find out what he is fishing with now and if he likes it. Also what are his favorite colors, etc. etc. Re: Catfish Rod advice

The other option is to have the girlfriend give her guy a gift cert. for the rod. that way you can get all the measurements right. sometimes the girlfriends like the idea sometimes tehy just want to give something he can open. I've had it go both ways. Re: Catfish Rod advice
