I haven't posted in a while and I just received an AmTak Bushido spin/jig 8-15lb rod blank. I recently took up largemouth fishing out of my yak at a local lake. My question is about Tennessee handles. As much as I dislike the looks, nothing is as comfortable. I have carbon fiber tubes as well as carbon fiber sleeve material. Should I build my handle using thin wood or plastic arbors, if so basswood ok? Plain tn handle using carbon tubing? Vibronics or hot handle by Steve Gardner? Cleanest way to finish off ends of tn handle? I have eva plugs that match both diameter carbon tubes sold by Mudhole(.920 and .980?). Sorry for all the questions. You have a ton of options here. The lightest and simplest TN handle is just the tube, supported by a couple of 1 inch bushings near either end. You can probably find a brick foam or urethane foam arbor that matches most of the popular stock carbon tube diameters. EVA foam caps on either end will be just fine.
