Hey guys, I have been wearing google out looking for a company that has the right blank im looking for. Maybe it doesn't exist. I currently own a cabela's tqr 5' 2wt 2 pc rod that I love and would love to replicate and make for a friend. I know I could just buy one but theres no fun in building then. I did a search on here to make sure this subject hasnt been covered already and from what I could tell it hasnt. Does anyone know where I can get a 5' 2wt 2pc fly rod blank? And if they dont exist what could I do to achieve what im looking for? Thanks in advance.

The shortest "STOCK" blank CTS makes is 6'6" in the type of action you would want.

They will build a 5'0" blank . BUT - their new custom fee of $250 will make it impractical for a "one-off". BUT - if they had built this blank for someone before and they still have the engineering there will not be such a fee.

Give me particulars (# pieces, painted a color or just gloss or just raw carbon) and I will check for you if you wish. As far as blanks go - you will not find any sweeter. Yesterday I just received a shipment from CTS and there was a 6''6" # 2 and a 7'6" #3 that were unbelievably sweet.

dorbeR has one listed on their wesite. F602. Rainshadow used to make one but I don't see it listed anymore. I have the Rainshadow blank in the basement and would be willing to part with it, forest green. If your interested shoot me an email. I have used the dorbeR blanks and like them.

Jim- which blank would be better? The rainshadow or the dorbeR?
