Does Citristrip harm bare blanks?

Have an odd situation where I have to strip a rod that has paint and also a bare blank section.

If I strip the paint using Citristrip, will it harm the bare blank or is the bare blank basically inert to Citristrip?

Thanks!
Mo

It doesn't appear to hurt them. I've used it on several.

I've used it on a few also. i used an old plastic gift card/hotel key card with a half round cutout on the edge as a scrapper. run the card down the blank after the citristrip does it's thnig and it gets most of the paint off.

Thanks everyone. Given enough applications and time, citristrip is quite effective. If it doesn't at all affect the blank, I suppose I can just do multiple application over days and get the paint off without hardly any need to scrape.

Or do you guys do it only for X number of hours.... THe blank I am testing this on has very stubborn paint...:)

Thanks again! You guys are tops. And this is by far the best forum on the web in terms of the community helping.

Mo, I've got 3 of the older green scv's that I stripped to the bare blank with the citrustrip and fish them every weekend for tournaments. I've yet to experience any issues, I also used one of the 3m green pads to clean any left over paint. It may not be the best way, but it hasn't had any negative results. I've fished them for about 5 years or so now.

I use it quite often and love the stuff. I have found that burlap does an excellent job of removing the mess.
