What is the best adhesive to attach a rubber door know butt plug to a cork grip? I have some Flex Coat rod builders epoxy glue and I also have some epoxy gel. Will either of these work or is there something better? Re: rubber door knob butt caps

Epoxy is fine. GOOP adheres to rubber pretty darn well and offers some "give." The main thing is that you clean the inside of the rubber cap with alcohol (or acetone) and give it a swipe or two with some fine sandpaper or Scotchbrite. Apply epoxy and adhere.

Nick,
I assume that the butt cap that you are using fits around the butt cap doesn't it. If the rubber cap is only a flush fit on the bottom of the butt cap, it won't stay on very well, no matter the adhesive. Be safe Re: rubber door knob butt caps

Thanks for the advice Tom I will give it a try.
Roger the butt cap fits over approximately the last 1 1/2 inches of the rear grip. Re: rubber door knob butt caps

Nick,
Perfect. When I glue on butt caps of this sort, I just put a bit of epoxy in the bottom of the cap as well as the inside of the cap. Then, I slide the cap on, without first putting any glue on the sides of the rod butt. By doing it this way, there normally is no glue that comes out of the joint, so it is a simple glue up with virtually no clean up. Be safe Re: rubber door knob butt caps

Thanks for the advice Roger and Tom. I put the butt cap on last night and it seemed to adhere well. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
