Bought a Neon Lime Green blank off Mudhole for Sh!ts and Giggles and to have a rod to leave at my buddies Cabin in Maine for Smallies and Largies.
What color wraps do you all think i should put on it? Thinking about yellow and green and do a "7Up soda" kind of look. or maybe some black to make it pop. what do you think.... Chris Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/12/2014 01:00PM by Chris Staab. Re: Color Help for a Neon Green Blank

Chris
In the photo below if you change the blank to neon green and use Roger's suggestion of neon green thread with black you will end up with something like this ??? [www.rodbuilding.org] Tom Re: Color Help for a Neon Green Blank

what about doing something a little crazy since the blank is a crazy color anyways. Go with like a neon blue, or neon pink, with some white or silver trim bands. Re: Color Help for a Neon Green Blank

I've actually done a couple of these blanks for some friends who wanted an inexpensive "crazy looking" rod. One of them I wrapped in orange/black tiger wrap then marbled the butt section in orange, green, white and purple. It was really crazy looking. The other I just finished wrapping this am in purple. If you're not looking for something to mimic, try looking at a color wheel, it can give you ideas for other colors that will compliment each other. Re: Color Help for a Neon Green Blank

Maybe I have some pics. If I don't have one somewhere, I'll run over to his house (he only lives about 1 mile from me.) I've been looking for an excuse to get on the photo page. I'll let you know when I post it. Warning! The color scheme is not for the faint of heart or stomach. But it's what he wanted. Re: Color Help for a Neon Green Blank

Chris, I just put a pre-epoxy photo of the wrap on the photo page. Please don't judge, that was one of my first rods, long before I started doing the Forhan lock. But at least it will give you an idea of the color scheme. I am having my buddy send me pics of the marbling. Hope this helps a little. Good luck and let me know how you ended up wrapping it.
