I have only used St Croix blanks (which I really like) but looking to expand my horizon and would like recommendations for a couple NON-Chinese made blanks. I need these rods to be 2pc. All of my current rods are 1pc so I am unfamiliar with the differences in actions and strength differences in 2pc vs 1pc.
One I'm looking for would be for bluegills and crappies. Something in the 7 1/2- 8' range, 2 pc UL. Planning on primarily using a bobber and a jig so sensitivity isn't particularly important but I do want it to be as light as possible. I was figuring on a 2-3 wt fly rod. Second would be a 2pc medium-ish, 7 1/2'-ish rod for beach fishing for flounder or the like. Primarily jig fishing so sensitivity is more important. I live in WI so a 2pc is needed for travel otherwise I'd get a 1pc for this rod. Up to $100 is good. Thanks! Scott Re: 2 blank recommendations needed

I haven't try these, but they are American made and they are new to the market. Take a look at the Liberty brand put out by Get Bit Outdoors. They are a sponsor on the left side. Like I said, they are new and I haven't tried them yet. I posted a short while ago asking others what they thought. Chester May your line be tight and your beverages be cold! If you can live with a. 1 pc. panfish rod check out Batson's Revelation lin e up. The REVS72ul is outstanding. Very lightweight and sensitive. I build it with a BPST reel seat downllocking, no foregrip just a fighting butt. Without a doubt the best bluegill rod I have ever owned. I have several customers here in my area that would say the same. It has been the death of over 300 gills in my boat this year alone.
As far as 8' ultralites go you will be happier with a 4 wt than a 2 wt. when you build a flly blank as a spinning rod. Especially if yoou are bobber fishing . Re: 2 blank recommendations needed

I know St Croix is made in the US, most are made about 5 miles from my grouse hunting spots. I was looking for a different brand, just not a brand made in China. Sorry for any confusion.
