Sorry to hear that!! Dale and I put on 6 PNW RodCrafters seminars in the '70's and '80's. He published a lot of good information in the Journal and in his books.

I was saddened to hear of the death of a friend and mentor. I read his books as I learned to build and moved to Marco Island Florida. Well low and behold Dale was my neighbor and I knocked on his door one day to introduce myself. He invited me in and he and Donna became close friends. Always one to see new techniques and further the craft he loved to see my latest build. A true pioneer of our craft.

Gosh, how many of us learned to build rods from the books Dale Clemens authored. I know that I sat at the table with a copy of his "Making Fiberglass Rods" sitting on my lap while I wrapped my first rod. My copy is dated 1981, and is second edition. He shared his knowledge with us through his books. He will be missed.

That's most unfortunate. He was a pioneer in this field and I personally benefitted immensely by his well written and illustrated works.

For those of you who don't know, Dale was an exceptional wood turner also and created beautiful works of art. Check out some of his pieces at www.daleclemens.net.

I will never forget this man he became a part of what I do to this day. I have been building Custom Fishing rods for 57 years & when dail came on to the scene it really helped me in many ways as he did not mind sharing his knowledge with other rod builders. I will miss him & I am sure there are many more people like me that will feel the same way RIP my friend.
