I was a searching the site to find subjects about accelerated curing time and found a post about drying in the garage. I live in Houston and we're already seeing 90* days, don't have a thermometer but I'm sure it
was pushing 90-100 in there. Long story short, "IT WORKED" turned a 5 day build into a 3 day. Now, I have my rod ready for red snapper fishing Arthur Spend some, save some, give some away!!! :-) Re: Accelerated curing time

For every 18F to 20F increase in temperature above 70F, you halve the set and cure time.

How warm/hot can you go before it affects the finish? Re: Accelerated curing time

At some point, enough temperature means the epoxy will set up almost immediately. You won't hurt the finish, but you may not have time to do much more than stir it and watch it then quickly set up.

Tom, would you by any chance specify the temperature in number of degrees? I believe a butane lighter heats up to about 450 F and that's hot enough to burn and ruin the finish? The reason I ask is because I'm wondering if I could set my heat gun to 250 degrees Fahrenheit and use that to speed up the curing process without damaging the finish or the blank itself. Thanks. You really need an overall increase in the room temperature. Spot heating isn't going to give good results and as you suspect, you can easily burn/boil the finish with direct heat.

250 degrees is too hot for a carbon fiber blank! Re: Accelerated curing time
