Hello, the specs of these 2 models caught my eye. I see them listed as Walleye series R8, for casting bottom bouncers, but they are also listed as multipurpose. I'm wondering what bass purposes they might be good for?
XCW70HM. 7'. Line 10-20 lbs. lure wt 1/2 -2 oz. mod fast. Heavy action. Couldn't this be a nice flipping stick, or even hvy carolina rig/football jig? Has anyone had the opportunity to work with these? Thanks, Craig Re: Batson's R8 Bottom Bouncer Blanks?

I built the XCW70MHM as a casting blank for my neighbor to use for crank baits, top water and spinners. I was impressed with the blank, plenty of power in a fairly light weight blank. Re: Batson's R8 Bottom Bouncer Blanks?

One thing to keep in mind, the lure weights listed are not for casting. Bottom bouncers are used for trolling and drifting. I have a 70HM I have not built yet. Very light for power of the blank, but I don't think it would cast 2 oz very well. I think it would be a good Carolina rig rod. It should work for football jigs, if you don't like a real fast blank. I have been planning to build mine to try with Biffle Hard Head swing jigs. I fish for smallmouth a lot and I like a little slower blank to keep them hooked up on jumps.
