After the Custom Rod Expo there was a lot of talk about how many folks were seen walking around with colorful Rodgeek blanks.
By now many of those blanks must be in service. What are your opinions after having built on them? Re: Rod geek blanks

I like them just as much as I do the St. Croix blanks I've built on. But this is no surprise since the Rodgeeks blanks are the same blanks they make for St. Croix. Re: Rod geek blanks

Bill, not true... have you checked out the post offices new shipping rates lately? it cost 30 bucks to ship a tube back to St. Croix because I don't have a fed ex close enough to use the reduced shipping they offer. I have had others come in at 25.00 for a blank sooooo. 18.95 not out of line! Re: Rod geek blanks

Garry
So far I have built four rods on the rod geeks blanks and have orders for two more. They are St. Croix blanks with the option of adding color. The products I have been able to produce using the COLOR of the blank and then matching color combinations for the wraps have been nothing less than outstanding according to my customers. Two have been the carbon 2 (SCll) and two are carbon 4 (SCiV) blanks, they are every bit St Croix in performance and quality. One Carbon 4 went to a Bass Guide and gets a lot of use and he is extremely pleased with the rod and it is holding up, finish wise, very well. I will continue to use more of The Rod Geeks blanks and hope they add even more colors in the coming year. Tom tomscustomrods.com Re: Rod geek blanks

Others (myself included) build a rod that will be the best possible for it's intended use, be aesthetically pleasing and last forever. Those demands make cost low on the priority list. To the original question; Rod Geeks are excellent blanks! Don Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 05/19/2014 01:46PM by Don O'Neil. Re: Rod geek blanks

You might want to contact Bob Penicka at Rod Geeks. He is great to work with and would certainly know the answer to your question. Tom tomscustomrods.com Re: Rod geek blanks

I won a Rod Geeks blank at the Michigan Rodbuilder Gathering( yep, I won the hot pink blank) and am in the process of finishing it up this week. when i sent a thank you note to Rod Geeks they replied and asked If I thought there was interest in 2 pc. blanks in my area. so it looks like they are researching that option. I also asked about fly blanks and they basically said stay tuned it may happen very soon. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
