RX7 vs Revelation

Wanting to try a Rainshadow blank. I've been using MHX and want to try something different.

I'm going to build a 7' MH RX7 or 7'2" MH Revelation casting rod for bass soft plastics.

Is the Revelation worth the cost difference?

Thanks,
Larry

Larry,
As the typical answer says, "It depends".

If you want the performance of the Revalation, it is worth the cost.

If not, it is not worth the cost.

To be sure, build one rod on an MH blank and one on a Revelation.

Just take the one that you don't like and give the rod to someone who can appreciate it.

I ano not trying to give a quick or a smart answer, but this is really like asking someone if they would rather drive a Ford or Chevy. Or, if you want to drive a Cadillac or a Lincoln.

It just depends.

By the blank that is right for your needs, wishes and budget and after building it, enjoy it.

Be safe

Personally- it is worth it!

So the consensus would be the Revelation is better than the MHX...

The cost difference in shipping from MudHole to Get Bit helps offset the cost difference.

The 7'2" MH is really appealing to me. Are the blanks pretty well balanced weight-wise?

Thank you all for the help.

I have two of them and I like them. I have one wrap traditionally with the guides on top and the other is a spiral wrap for comparison. I like them both, but the spiral wrap is my favorite. All components are the same between them.

What components did you use? If you don't mind me asking.

I have not built or even had my hands on a Revelation Blank. I was really bummed when I found out Batson was dropping the RX8 - 822.5 and replacing it with the Revelation blanks. How does the Revelation Blanks compare to the RX 8 line of blanks. I note they are less expensive. Is the Revelation line closer to the RX 7 line of Blanks? Any insight would be greatly appreciated

Don, all I can say is they are nice and with the new processes being used that are state-of-the-art.

What other lines are they dropping, changing or adding that you know of?

I have built six Revelation rods in the last 6 months they are pretty much in the middle of Rx8 and 7. Basically I was told its like a Rx7 trimmed off all the fat. Personally I like them.

I have three of them.. The price is good but they appear to be heavier than the RX8. I was discussing these with the reps at the show and they claim they are one of their best sellers. They stated the return rate is low as well.
