Hi guys. I have some trim that goes around my boats rod holder bays. Its mahogany. One of the corner seams sepaerated yesterday and i need to reglue it up. Tried some titebond iii no go.
Has anyone tried using this epoxy for something like this? I figured it would work better than the paste. Thanks in advance!! Scott "My biggest fear in life is that when I die, my wife will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it." Re: Flex Coat epoxy on wood?

I wouldn't use the Flex Coat thread epoxy. It's not made for that. I would clean out as much of the titebond as you can and use a regular epoxy preferably a slow setting one. I would maybe even use the paste. I've had great results using the paste if the joints aren't super tight. you can pack the joint withthe paste and then wipe off the excess leaving the paste to fill the gap if there is one. You definitely want an adhesive epoxy rather than a casting epoxy (rod finish)
If the gap is fairly tight, you can use 5 minute eopxy from the hardware store, but if the gap is larger, rod bond (or similar) will be better. It won't sag as much. Re: Flex Coat epoxy on wood?

I believe for that application I would use Gorilla Glue, it will expand into the joint you are trying to fix. Re: Flex Coat epoxy on wood?

Tks Randolph. I have had good luck with gorilla glue but this wood is too small and thin. Sometimes the expansion hurts you. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
