Hey, I have a few questions to ask so any input will be greatly appreciated!
First I was wondering if anyone has experiences with phenix elixir blanks? Specifically the7'6" or the 8' models. I'm planning to build on one of these. Second, I want to use some kind of micro guides on it for extra sensitivity and reducing extra weight. Is there any difference in nano micros vs micros? And which brand to use? Thank you guys! Then nano micros do not have an insert. Re: Panfish rod build

I like the Pac Bay Minima 4s for ultra lights. Chris Richer Iroquois ON Re: Panfish rod build

X2 on the Pac Bay Minima 4's! Even titanium if you really want to skin the weight down. Re: Panfish rod build

I have mever built on one of the phenix but I just finished building a new pan fishing ultralight on one of the 7'2" Batson revolution blanks. I used American Tackle Microwave guides on it. Sweet is all I can say. Re: Panfish rod build

Randy, what size guides did you use and how many? I see that mudhole has american tackle micro guide sets and might consider purchasing one. Unless I should consider smaller micros since I'm planning to use lines that are no heavier than 4lb tests. Thank you all for the inputs! Re: Panfish rod build

If you don't have to pass any knots then you can go as small as you want. Four pound mono will pass through the smallest guides out there without any problem.
Randy is right about the REVS72UL. I have built 5 of them already and they are a fantastic blank. I built an elixir last year. I stretched it from 5'6" to just over 6' trying to make it faster. It was close but still doesn't compare to the Revelation. Batson really hit the ball out of the park on this series. Re: Panfish rod build

the American Tackle Microwave set comes with a stripper, a stand off guide and 7 running guides. a 7 ft rod will use them all. I think the running guides are size 4 , but correct me if I am wrong.. I used size 3 running guides on the K guide set up. Both the 7'2" and the 7' rods have 9 guides on them. Re: Panfish rod build

Hello All.
The running guides for the Micro Wave set-up are #5's. I like my 7' Elixir, and use #3's for runners. Tight Wraps. Bob, New Bern, NC. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
