Thinking about using one or the other for a HM-P908-MHX. Any thoughts? Re: Fuji VSS vs AmTac Aero - Opinions?

I like the Aero. I feel it gives me a few more options as far as rear grips go. Re: Fuji VSS vs AmTac Aero - Opinions?

The VSS in size 16 is very small in diameter. It fine for some folks but I have big hands and prefer the #17.
These seats are very nice looking, but can be a little tricky to install. The seat is cheap enough, but the dedicated cork pushes the cost up. If you have some spare cork, you can cut and paste to build whatever grip you want. The Aero is easy to install. The grip is very comfortable to use, but looks a bit lumpy. I think the padded version is too expensive, but there's an non-padded version for about $7.00. Re: Fuji VSS vs AmTac Aero - Opinions?

the non padded version of the Aero also lends itself to some cool options for paint etc. check out the swirl paint at Bobblehead rods. Re: Fuji VSS vs AmTac Aero - Opinions?

I have used regular size 16 seats and the diameter is small for my hands. Does the size 16 Aero fill the average sized hand? Re: Fuji VSS vs AmTac Aero - Opinions?

The aero 16 is a lot more comfortable than a standard 16. I have large hands and prefer the 17. ______________________________________ Super Tight Lines......Don Re: Fuji VSS vs AmTac Aero - Opinions?

The 16 Aero is not huge, but is on the large side, compared to ordinary size 16 spinning seats.
I stated earlier that I need a size 17VSS, but find the #16 Aero big enough. Re: Fuji VSS vs AmTac Aero - Opinions?

I am partial to the aero when it comes to fit and comfort, as are a lot of my clients. Re: Fuji VSS vs AmTac Aero - Opinions?

Another option that works very well and is very comfortable is the "hidden hood" setup using a conventional size 16 Skeletal reel seat.
The front part of the reel seat is nested in cork, so that there is nothing but cork touching the hand. [www.rodbuilding.org] Be safe Re: Fuji VSS vs AmTac Aero - Opinions?

I use the Aero for all of my spinnig rods. Size 16 for reels up to 3000 size, and size 17 for larger reels. I have yet to have a customer that does not like them. Even on budget builds, I just use the non-comfort fit aero seats. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
