GPS has been misinterpreted in some cases as a critical means of matching one rod to one reel. While laying out a rod for the particular characteristics of a reel is advantageous, GPS has always been a starting point. I sometimes enter values for two reels, check the results and average the locations. More times than not the results are very good and provided you stick with a reel of roughly the same size or "series" NGC is as versatile as any other layout.
You should receive the Fuji catalog with your magazine this month. Page 46 and 47 show Fuji's latest instructions on a modified layout method that results in a great KR Concept rod (for a range of reels) in just 4 quick steps. Re: Microwave vs. NGC

Line oscillation stops at the stripper guide with the ATC Microwave, which is nice, but the "K" guides offer more choices for running guides sizes after the initial guide set up. ATC's come only is sets. I have used both, Like the ATC's Re: Microwave vs. NGC
