Rookie mistake here.....missed come cleanup of ProKote when installing cork grip and now I've got dried epoxy on the blank in front of the fore grip. How do I remove it without damaging the blank? Re: Epoxy removal from blank

The good news is rod finishes aren't known for their adhesive qualities, so they come off fairly easy, lots of info in the search function here to help you. Worse case scenario is to cover it with a decorative wrap, hook keeper wrap, etc. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 03/30/2014 11:07AM by Spencer Phipps. Re: Epoxy removal from blank

As mentioned, use the "search" feature to find past discussions on the subject. A lot will depend upon whether it is a color coated blank or not. Extreme care will need to be taken on a color coated, as it is very easy to damage the coating. Re: Epoxy removal from blank

Dan,
Just use a razor blade and scrape off the epoxy. If you end up with a bare blank, just do a decorative wrap at that location. Be safe Re: Epoxy removal from blank

If the finish on the blank is glossy - warm the epoxy & it will pop off with a thumb nail or the edge of a plastic credit card... much less chance of damaging the blank than with a razor blade Re: Epoxy removal from blank

Warm it and use the credit card. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
