For a planned 9 foot 10 wt saltwater travel fly rod, I'm agonizing over the reel seat. Needs to be silver color, solid reel mounting is the top priority. Will add a fighting butt. thanks, Re: 10 wt fly reel seat recommendation requested

Just make sure it has double lock rings. Most mfg state what size rods they will fit. I like the Pac Bay. Quality at a good price. Re: 10 wt fly reel seat recommendation requested

One thing to keep in mind is that plating and salt are not always a good mixture. Anodized or titanium are a lot mor user friendly around salt water applications, As meticulous as I am in cleaning them, even some of my old Varmac seats have a small amout of pitting. Michael -
On 9 weight and above, I really like the REC RFTS. It has a flat top so the slide band "tracks" and two lock nuts that holds bigger reels in place very nicely. Tony Re: 10 wt fly reel seat recommendation requested

With Tony on the RFTS's. Beautiful and functional seats. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
