Reel bands?

Hi, I build ultralight rods with one piece cork handles.I'm having trouble finding Reel Bands. I don't like to use the type that thread on to a reel seat, instead I like to use metal bands or rings to slide over the cork and reel feet, one each side. It is nearly impossible to find them. Any idea where to find a supplier for them would be a huge help.
Thanks , Paul. Re: Reel bands?

Anglers Workshop carries them in both graphite and aluminum. I just found them in my catalog, they are made by Pac Bay so I assume that you can get them from other sponsors on the left too. Re: Reel bands?

Paul,
I know that you prefer reel bands, but I would rather use plastic electrical tape to hold the reel to the grip. I don't like the feel of the bands under my fingers when I am fishing. With a taped on reel, there is virtually no bulge or any thing to affect the feel of the rod in your hands. if I do use tape, I will choose the location for my reel and then put a couple of wraps on the grip where the front attachment will be made. Then, I do the same thing for the rear attachment point. Finally, when I tape the reel on the rod, I never remove the first layer of tape. If you do remove the first layer of tape, you can possibly pull cork from the cork grip. But, by always leaving the first wrap of tape on the rod, you never have an issue marring the grip. As always, your choice. Be safe Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 03/20/2014 08:25PM by roger wilson. Re: Reel bands?

We like the shrink tubing like Batson X-Flock.
1.18" seems to work for most, larger sizes also in stock. Just cut off a few inches, one for each side, slide over the grip and the reel foot, hair dryer or heat gun does it easy. If you want to remove, easy to cut off and no residue. Not on our site yet, here is a link to Batson; [batsonenterprises.com] Best wishes, Ron Schneider Schneider's Rod Shop Mountain Home, Arkansas [www.schneidersrods.com] mtnron40@yahoo.com 870-424-3381 Re: Reel bands?

Ron,
Is the Xflock strong enough to hold the reel by itself? Re: Reel bands?
