Do people regularly use both sizes, especially if they are going to pour the epoxy into an aluminum cup no matter what size they use? Will a mixing bearing fit in a 1 oz.? Re: Should I order both 2.5 oz. and 1 ox. mixing cups?

Ordering the larger allows you to mix both smaller and larger amounts. Whatever you can mix in the 1 oz cup, you can mix in the 2.5 oz cup. But not vice versa. So unless there is some great difference in price, you might consider just ordering the larger cups.

I use the larger cups for mixing the paste type epoxy used to glue handles and reel seats.
A cheap set of measuring spoons makes it easy to measure the two parts accurately. For guide finish, I use the free aluminum mixing cups found on the bottom of beer or soda cans. A couple of small graduated syringes make measuring easier than eyeballing the scale on a plastic cup. Re: Should I order both 2.5 oz. and 1 ox. mixing cups?

Tony,
I go to the grocery store and get the 2.5 oz cups in bulk. Very inexpensive and no shipping charges. Cups are readily available in most stores. Be safe Re: Should I order both 2.5 oz. and 1 ox. mixing cups?

Thanks for the tips guys. I never realized that every soda can has an aluminum epoxy cup as it's bottom :) Re: Should I order both 2.5 oz. and 1 ox. mixing cups?

Been using the can bottom, full and empty, for years to mix up epoxy glue for small repairs everywhere. Never found anything better. A cold can will slow down the cure time too.
I use free 1 oz. cups from the hospital after they've been used for pill dispensing. I got a stash some years ago from someone who worked there. Very handy for measuring weed and bug spray, two-cycle oil, etc. I like getting a secondary use and then recycling stuff. Re: Should I order both 2.5 oz. and 1 ox. mixing cups?

Hey jim
you must be in one of the states that allow weed. After you measure the weed do you smoke it. If so, better stay away from the epoxying. LOL Rolly Beenen Rovic Custom Rods Re: Should I order both 2.5 oz. and 1 ox. mixing cups?

Since those cups are easy to tip over I went to a Home Depot and got a PVC tube end cap Mixed up some wood glue and cork dust put it on the sides of the cap and then pushed the cup into it
makes for a more steady cup Bill - willierods.com Re: Should I order both 2.5 oz. and 1 ox. mixing cups?

I thought you use the lid from a mayonnaise jar to measure weed.... Freddwhy (Rapt-Ryte) Re: Should I order both 2.5 oz. and 1 ox. mixing cups?
