Wondering if anyone has experience with the Fuji TLSCG double foot low profile guides (dont have to be the titanium version). I like the idea of the lower profile of these better than the standard TLNSG, guides.
let me know any weight differences between the two, and your thoughts about these lower profile guides for conventional casting rod build (guides on top). Will probably use 4.5 running guides... Bass rods. Thanks, -Mike Re: Anyone ever tried TLCSG Titanium "Low Rider" Guides for bass casting rod ?

Mike: In smaller sizes the KW is a whisker lower than LC and is now available down to a size 5. Smaller footprint too. Re: Anyone ever tried TLCSG Titanium "Low Rider" Guides for bass casting rod ?

I'd like to know where the "low rider" nickname came from as these are a pretty high frame guide. The larger ones often get used as the stripper for overhead rods to keep the line off the foregrip before then going back to the lower framed MN style guides. When Low Riders first appeared they were lower than other frames. The first "innerline" rods had just shown up and Fuji was worried enough about the trend to produce a guide that sat lower to the blank. In order to keep the guide in the "concept" family, and make it as tangle "resistant" as other concept guides they gave it the sweeping angled frame and a wide footprint. Falcon Rods liked the look and put them on a rod they called a "Low Rider". Fuji was searching for a name for the new guide at the time and liked the Low Rider idea. With Falcon's permission the "Low Rider" guide was born. Re: Anyone ever tried TLCSG Titanium "Low Rider" Guides for bass casting rod ?

Mike
my 1st rod that i build used LCSG frame on all it guides except tip top, it's conventional baitcasting rod i used 1 #8 ; 4 #6 ; 5 #5,5 and 5,5 tip this rod so heavy on the tip the only reason i dont strip and rebuild it again with another guide frame just because it is my very 1st rod that i build it's never leave my room since i have another rod with KT frame this rod teach me 1 thing "using double foot on all your guide in freshwater casting rod IS NOT GOOD idea" Re: Anyone ever tried TLCSG Titanium "Low Rider" Guides for bass casting rod ?

Thanks for all the responses. Jim, I don't see any of the titanium KW's in a 5J? When using the KW guides is there any reason I should start with a KW6J then go to KW5.5J? Or could I just use 2, 5.5's? Running guides will be 4.5J or 5J fly guides. This will be for a 6'6" medium power fast action bass casting rod. Using Abu Garcia revo premier baitcasting reel.
Any thoughts on how far from the top of the baitcasting reel the first KW guide should be? Using Fuji ECSM reel seat. Thanks agin for any help. -Mike Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
