Guys, I'm a novice builder with one casting rod to my credit. My next build will be a Batson Knife jig stick for use with a spinner. This blank is only 4'10". Long. The Batson recipe calls for a size 40 first guide. My concern is the angle of the line from my Saltist 6500 to the guides. Guys I need advice. Re: Matching reel to guides

What type and size line are you going to be using?

Jon,
[www.youtube.com] You have a tall reel. The size 40 high frame guide would be a good one to use. file:///C:/Users/REW/Downloads/RCKJB508-500%20Salt%20Spin.pdf I would use the Batson receipe. It is a proven receipe that works for this rod. Be safe Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 02/25/2014 08:39PM by roger wilson. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
