Hey everyone I forgot to order a reamer upong my last purcahse and need one for this weekend. I have stock or can make stock to use for the reamer im just not sure what to use for an abrasive. Can anyone recommend something that I would be able to find at a local hardware or craft store that could be used.
I thought about just using epoxy and sand etc but that just doesnt seem likt it would work to me. Thanks Re: reamer abrasive material

If you can find some carborundum grit or garnet grit, then coat your piece of blank stock with epoxy and then roll it in the grit and let it cure. I have made a number of reamers this way. Works great. Re: reamer abrasive material

Casey,
1" utility roll or 1" sanding belt, split into 1/2" wide strips. Contact cement onto your reamer stock. "It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so." Mark Twain John in Wethersfield, CT Re: reamer abrasive material

I use old cut down rod sections, coat them with super glue, then sprinkle sand on them. Sand. When it looks like I have enough, I spray it with a "kicker" to cure the glue. Works great. Make a bunch, different sizes. I buy cheap glue at Walmart. Nothing fancy. Re: reamer abrasive material
