Hello All,
Looking for any insight you can offer on fly rod blanks that fit this bill: - 7'6" 4wt - Moderate to (slower) moderate/fast action - To be used on on small to medium-sized spring creeks I was thinking a Batson RX7 blank, but wanted to see if you all had any other suggestions. Thanks! Joe Re: 7'6" 4wt blank sugestions

If you prefer it to be on the "slower" side of fast, the RX6 is a better fit. It is rated mod/fast, the RX7 is rated med/fast and it is definitely on the fast side.
I build a lot on both blanks and unless you are going to be making very long casts, I think the RX6 better fits your stated use. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 02/16/2014 11:49AM by Phil Erickson. Re: 7'6" 4wt blank sugestions

Try the TFO finesse series. Makes a beautiful dry fly rod.

You may also want to look at what one of the other sponsors (Bingham Enterprises) has to offer.

Thank you all for the suggestions! I am checking a few of the out now. I was also considering fiberglass, although I am not as familiar with them. I did a little research on the Lamiglas FL904, as well as the Epic blanks. I have wrapped guides for repairs before, but this would be my first complete build. These seem to fall on the slow and faster side of the fiberglass spectrum. Not sure if I'd like to start on a blank as pricey as the Epic though... Edited 1 time(s).
