I am looking for an alternative to color protector. The ones I've been using all seem to dull the color. I did a few a test wraps and used some Mod Podge gloss on some nylon thread and it looked good. Haven't put finish on yet. Has anyone ever used Mod Podge before? If so what was the result? Generally most CPs will dull the color but it comes back up when you apply epoxy. Also remember that the thread color is affected by the color of the blank you're putting it on. A darker blank results in a darker thread shade.

I tried some in a pinch a few years back and it worked OK. Got some cracking later but can't say if it was the MP or the epoxy I was using at the time. Re: Mod Podge Gloss as a CP

I have never heard of Mod Podge. What is it and where do you get it? Re: Mod Podge Gloss as a CP
