Had the chance to test some TORZITE wrapped rods last weekend using the latest generation of our blanks (which have just about met our standards!). I had a hard time finding something I didn't like about the way these rods performed with TORZITE KL-H guides. 20# braid casting 3/8 oz jig heads with 4-inch soft plastic. Some good video of the way the blanks bend in the real world and how they can lift 30# redfish. I suppose a fishing video is odd here but I prefer to think of it as research! The vid is on [www.anglersresource.net] or view it via the link below. Please excuse the fact that there was no professional videographer on board nor did it go to an Emmy award winning post edit facility!

Nice looking blank. That is one of my favorite fishing spots right there, closer to the edge the bigger the fish run mostly too.
Are there plans to bring those blanks to market for rod builders or just as a finished product? Re: TORZITE Testing

Lou we knew we had found a truly great blank over a year ago when we started the project. Over time as research results came in from a hand picked group of pros, saltwater gurus and numerous guides who we knew would give us straight feedback, we started to see a few minor patterns emerge so we went back to the drawing board to make a few slight changes in the way the blanks performed. We learned that, regardless of the equipment, as it gets more refined the "ease of use" window gets smaller. A truly great golf club shaft, for example, is unbelievable in the hands of a pro golfer...but can be less than forgiving in the hands of a weekender. Same is true of bowling balls, ping-pong paddles and hockey sticks - the very best among any equipment has the smallest tolerance for error. Realizing that made us re-evaluate our original blank due to a "load timing" issue. It was SPECTACULAR if the back cast had the right combination of speed and timing to load the rod for maximum effect, but it was simply too critical. Our efforts over the past months have centered around opening that timing window without losing the "spectacular" part of the way this blank feels, casts and fights fish. The generation of blanks fished in the redfish video are the first blanks that we feel are "there". We have more blanks to test but think we are on the mark for a blank that's a rare mix of "fishability" and raw power. It is very light, very strong, very fast and (now) very easy to operate. It makes you smile when you fish it.
By the way, The blank I was fishing was a MF 7'3", one I would normally choose for slot reds or (potentially) big speckled trout in the spring. I could easily put a 3/8oz jig a L-O-N-G way out on 20# braid and yet I was able to keep a 30lb redfish's head out of the water when I got them close to the boat. Our Everglades pro has hooked and landed 3 tarpon in the 100lb class with a MH of the same blank. We hope to have a complete selection for ICAST. Re: TORZITE Testing

One very envious angler and rod builder right here. I can't wait for these guides to be available in the land of Oz. Great video. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
