I'm looking for a blank to use to troll big musky crankbaits. The biggest baits would probably be in the 8-10 ounce range and would be deep divers. I would like to find 2 piece blanks for this application but haven't came across anything that I think would work. One piece ideas would also be welcome. I'm looking for a blank 8 to 10 feet long. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance for all of the help! Re: Musky Trolling Rod blanks

Look into Mud Hole MHX series I built on them and they are a nice blank for the price. I usually build Musky and Bass rods since I am in WI. Give me a holler if you need anything else. Lone Wolf Rods "Keep your powder dry and your lines wet" God Bless Re: Musky Trolling Rod blanks

As an option to a traditionally labeled musky rod blank from various MFGs you might want to look over some 2-piece surf rod blanks.
This might be an option also: [www.mudhole.com] Re: Musky Trolling Rod blanks

Mr. Cox,
You may want to consider our X2G80H . Its a hybrid 8' one-piece blank constructed using a graphite butt and mid-section that transitions into an e glass tip. We have had some other musky folks request these for trolling applications where a flexible e glass tip is preferred over the typical 8.0 to 9.0 stiff graphite tips found in musky casting applications. You could even go with an all e glass blank if price is critical and you don't mind the extra weight. -The Batson TEAM BatsonEnterprises.com Re: Musky Trolling Rod blanks

Thank you for all of the suggestions. I will look into these.
Geoff, Would the two-piece Pac Bay surf rods work if they were cut down a bit? Re: Musky Trolling Rod blanks

The Tackle Industries 9' XH blank would work very well. They are a mod-fast action comparable to MHX.

Thanks for the suggestion Jeremy. I have built on the Tackle Industries blank but hadn't thought about using them as a trolling blanks. I would really like to find a two piece alternative as space in the boat is at a premium. Re: Musky Trolling Rod blanks

I believe St. Croix is coming out with a 2 piece blank in the SC II musky series this year. I'm not sure if it has been released yet... Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 02/03/2014 10:49AM by Trinity Lindseth. Re: Musky Trolling Rod blanks

I talked with St Croix at the beginning of the year and was told they weren't sure if they would be offering the blanks to custom builders. That was about 5 weeks ago so things certainly could have changed. I did notice they made the Mudhole catalog listings...

It doesn't look like Mudhole has the new St. Croix blanks yet. I searched for them on their website by the product number in the catalog. I could add the blank to a cart but it said it was not in stock. I would be interested in taking a look at these and hopefully St. Croix offers the blanks to builders. Re: Musky Trolling Rod blanks

Has anyone used any of the Seeker blanks for musky trolling rods. Even though they are not 2-piece blanks they might work for what I'm looking to build for myself and a few other guys. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
