Yesterday I started looking down through the topics on the last several pages and noticed that there were probably a hundred or more posts and photos made here on RBO yesterday alone. But I never noticed how much went on because I only look at the new topics that go at the top of the page. Responses to older topics do not pop the original topic back to the top like they do on most other forums. So I miss a lot of the information that goes on here every day and bet others do too. I'm probably only seeing 10% of what goes on here daily unless I go back and search for it.
Just a suggestion, but if you set it to pop every topic that gets responsed to back to the top and linked or had the photo page integrated with the posts here this place would be even more buzzing than it is, or at least all the activity would be more apparent. Just a suggestion. Great forum as is but I think a lot of us are missing good info because we don't think to go back down the topic list to find every new post that gets made. You're not the first person to mention this. Yesterday, there were over 120 posts made here on RBO. But if you don't have your cookies set to show the "new" notification, or haven't checked the box "follow topic" then you won't automatically know or see all the new posts.
Early on we tried the setting for bumping topics back to the top whenever a new post was made. But all too often you'd get a couple guys continuing on an older topic and it would keep bumping newer and fresher topics back down. I think the setting we have now works best. As far as including photos in the message topics, I prefer to keep them on the separate photo page as this facilitates an archive where it's easy to find photos dating back to the very beginning of the page. That's not nearly as easily done when you combine the photo page and message forum into one body as most others do. ................. Re: question on posting order

OK that's fine, just thought I would mention it. There is a LOT more going on there than it looks like at first glance. The way its set it's very easy to miss the larger portion of it. Re: question on posting order

If you see a topic in which you have a particular interest, just check the "follow topic" box at the bottom of the message window. This way even if the page is 10 deep, if someone responds to that topic you'll be notified automatically. From there you can even click on the notification box and be taken directly to that topic without having to search for it.

i only belong to a couple forums so my experience is limited, But i must say i prefer the way RBO works over the other format mentioned. I log on to RBO every morning and read all of the topics marked with the red NEW. I tried to set my other forum to notify me if someone comments on my posts and it is not available. Just my 2c why i think RBO is the best! J Scott Englewood, Fl Re: question on posting order

While on the subject, On the photo page say I click on {Grips, Handles and Reel seats}, the page opens and I have the { Recent Photos - Grips, Handles and Reel Seats - 32 different photos,} than 16 older photos under that. Then I click on page 2 to move on, And I still get the {same 32 photos as the first page that I already looked at} and the only one's that change are the 16 below that. Is this correct? Or are my setting incorrect ? Seems like I do lot of scrolling up and down? Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
