just looked at the hydra website and they say they spend most of their time in bassboats [sounds good to me] so they don't have all their ng blank weights listed. has anyone got a weight or specs on their dropshot blanks bt842ds or bt843ds

I don't know the weight of the blank but it built out at 3.5 oz. including a tiger but wrap and aluminum trim rings.
Here is a link of the picture so you can see that it was by no means a light build on my part. these are the specs on the blank according to the 2012 catalogue.

BT842DS: 4 – 10# Line | 1/8 – 3/8 oz Lure | 1.6oz

Perfect for drop shots, small vertical spoons - light line and small baits. The basic design premise is to protect light test lines under load. Don’t expect to muscle in a fish, but you’ll feel the lightest bites and correctly fish the smallest lures. A true finesse technique rod blank, the BT842DS is needed when that bite is ultra tough and the pressure is on.

BT843DS: 6 – 12# Line | 1/4 – 1/2 oz Lure | 1.7oz

Well versed in smooth presentations and subtle power. Drop shots, split shots and other light wire hook techniques are ideal for this finesse blank. You’ll feel every little movement on the end of the line. Smallies hate the BT843DS… just sayin’.
