on the fuji torzite site they say you can use a size smaller guide because of the torzites being thinner than sics hence farther off the blank but only to size 12 though. my question is what are the smallest sizes i can get away with on a kr concept spinning rod that will still cast adequately . i want to save on weight but also some money because they are sure to be pricey

Robert, whatever size you are using now, just drop down one full size. TORZITE's ID is large enough to give you the same ID with one size smaller guide. If you drop down a size you will save weight without losing ID, but your guide won't be higher off the blank, it will actually be a tiny little lower. Smaller (frame) guides will be less expensive so that will help offset the price of moving up to TORZITE. You will save around 20% in weight with this technique and upwards of 35% by the time you add the reduction guides and take the total weight of the guide train. These figures are from a typical 7 ft spinner, your mileage may vary.

i understand but i think i may be using the smallest guides now. i use a sz 16 stripper than a sz 10 or 8 whatever works to sz 4 or 3.5 runners.

Mr.Ising. Can we expect in the mirror of this fact that the inner diameter was increased,to see some new smaller sized runners, like 3,5 or maybe 3? I can see them fuctional on some UL-L rods.

so fuji doesn't make a torzite single foot fly guide yet. on the torzite website they do have a 3.5 listed and what looks like a size 4 tip which i have been waiting for.

The KT is available down to a size 4. We do not carry the 3.5. The FC and LG tops are available down to a 4 with a size 4 tube.

Jim any idea when they might hit Australian shores? The shop you mentioned on the other thread does not post overseas.
