In another post, I had asked your suggestions for a simple design for my first wrap. Someone indicated the dramatic color change that regular nylon thread can have when CP isn't used.
My blank is the titanium color Batson uses. I picked garnet for my base wraps and it looks great on the rod. My question is what do you think of the NCP garnet as the base wrap with regular garnet sans CP for the guide wraps, or vice versa? Re: Color effect of nylon over NCP

Jon,
It is always easy to check. Do a test wrap on a portion of the blank using the colors that you want to use with the thread you want to use. Then, coat the thread with a good layer of DNA, and before it dries, will pretty well represent the color of the final finish coated thread with no CP. Try all of your test combinations and go from there. Re: Color effect of nylon over NCP

Bill makes a really good point about metallics. When using regular thread without CP it becomes a challenge some times to get the contrast you want. While one way is to use NCP type threads, another is to use metallics. For example, if using regular green without CP to get a really deep green, you can get a "white" contrast by using pearl metallic. It will appear to be a white with a sparkle, quite attractive. The same is true for all the other metallic colors. Re: Color effect of nylon over NCP

That sounds interesting... Anybody has any pics of what you have done using this approach? Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 01/04/2014 06:32PM by Roman Chamine. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
