I could be wrong, but as far as I know the SHXi blanks never came to market. I think they had too many problems with breakage. Shikari had them listed on their website forever but you could never buy one.
Good luck. Stan Re: shxi

As a former Shikari dealer, i want to say that Stan is correct. There was lots of talk about these blanks but were never made available for sale. There were a few that were sent out for testing but that was about it. I would be highly suspicious of anyone out there offering them for sale.

Karen is there any truth to the rumor that your B series blanks are off the shikari mandrels? Thanks for your time. Re: shxi

I heard North Fork Composites had the equipment, etc. from Shikari and Cascade Composites. Re: shxi

Unless you find a factory bag with factory tag holding a Shikari blank from a reputable source, you aren't getting one - period.
Here's the deal ... mandrels alone don't make a blank. You would still need the same carbon material, resin, cutting pattern, finishing methods, etc. to have a similar product in the end. I doubt the identical material and resin could even be found today - things change. Move on and start purchasing blanks that might suit a particular purpose. Plenty of quality manufacturers that surpass Shikari's talent - Hydra, NFC and St Croix are "top of the game" US-based companies and board sponsors as well. Re: shxi

I agree with Jim-mandrels alone do not make a blank. Shikari's doors have been closed for some 7 years or so. Several name companies did take possesion of their mandrels. The ovens and all other items related to building blanks were purchased by a company in CA and were just recently moved from Oklahoma. (They were collecting "dust" for some time). How do I know this, I am very good friends with their previous owners and accountant.
Like I said before, be very wary of anyone trying to sell a Shikari SHXi . Karen Bingham Enterprises Re: shxi mystery theater

It's not a secret. Wade Cunningham has a new company and they intend to produce rods and blanks in the near future, if not already.
