Guides Too Tight!

Hello all, and Happy New Year.

Just finished up a Trolling rod and double-wrapped the guides, obviously double-foot. I dont believe i wrapped too tight, as I always leave enough wiggle room for final alignment, except now. Anyways, is there any tip or trick to loosening them up just a bit so I can align? Thought about wetting them with water but didnt want to try anything until I asked the experts.

Thanks so much.

Scott

The water trick won't necessarily hurt anything and it will indeed swell the thread just at tad. Just make sure to allow plenty of time for the thread to dry all the way through before applying your finish.

I think a water based color preserver would work as well as water, and then you have accomplished your final alignment and sealed the thread in one step.

When i warp my guides on I will set and glue the handle and seat
Then alien the tip top to the seat or reel Glue it on
Then when ready to wrap the guides on I will alian the guides to the top starting at the top and going to the butt Alain as I wrap

I used a spray bottle to apply warm water, worked like a charm! Thanks Everyone for the help.
