White plastic pencil eraser, regular #2 may have a little grit in it, I use Staedtler Mars plastic erasers Re: removing suport wheel mark

Ernest,
If your wrapper leaves marks on your blanks, take a bit of masking tape and put a wrap on the blank where the roller touches. That way you will not leave a mark. But most well designed wrappers with a good rubber or latex wheel leave no marks. Be safe Re: removing suport wheel mark

Ernest,
I had read and understood that the mark had already happened. May I ask what sort of rest that you were using that made the mark, to try to remedy the issue for future builds? Normally, if you are using a power wrapper that uses rubber O ring on the outer surface, you get no marks. Re: removing suport wheel mark

You might want to make sure your wheel bearings are not fouled with thread or finish, or partially or completely seized. It sounds to me like one of them is not spinning as freely as it should be.
I once accidentally dabbed a bit of wet epoxy right where the bearing met a wheel, next day I came back and the wheel was locked tight to the bearing. I only noticed it because it happened to be right in front of me, if it was on a support to my left or right, I probably wouldn't have noticed it. Re: removing suport wheel mark

@roger : this wheel with O ring on outer surface like you describe
@john : this is my 1st use, the wrapper is brand new and belong to the owner of that blank.. he borrow me when i work his rod, usually i used home made hand wrapper and dryer all 3 wheels on every support leaved mark on blank. as far i see those wheel are spinning freely and i checked every wheel made a contact to the blank before work Re: removing suport wheel mark

Ernest,
I switched to silicone o'rings a few years ago; they don't mark and they last a LONG time. "It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so." Mark Twain John in Wethersfield, CT Re: removing suport wheel mark
