Cork Grip - Recessed Hood

Only thing left for me to complete my order is to decide on the cork grip. Will be ordering a Full Wells preformed grip from Mudhole and battling to
find one that already has the cut out for the recessed hood. The reel seat is a REC RSLL. Was thinking if I just order one with the 0.250 hole
and ream out to fit blank then try and somehow cut out the area for the hood using a blade and then sandpaper.
I havent got the right machinery to do this any other way. Also cant find the OD for the hood of the reel seat. Have emailed suppliers and no response. Not knowing the OD makes it difficult to order. Sites do list a diameter of 0.740. Is that the hood OD or the reel seat itself?

Any suggestions or comments will be appreciated.

Dave,
As I said on your first post. I use the RSLL seat a lot - why not just ask me??? That is what this site is all about - people helping each other

You will need a .93 port to accept the RSLL hood.

If you share your email with me I will send some pix of how I do it.

Bottom line - get the grip with 1/4" bore. NO NOT REAM IT !!!!
First port the seat using the tools I will show you in my email. Using the 1/4" bore as a pilot hole. Then ream the rest of the grip.

Don't know what grip you bought. Just make sure that there is enough "meat" on the grip to allow a 10 mm X .93" ( sorry for the combination of metric and U.S.) port without breaking through the rear wells.

Have you checked with MudHole to see if they offer already recessed grips, or if they will recess for you?
