For finishing, is there any reason that a flat end brush is better than a larger round end brush? Curious to know what most guys use for epoxy. Re: Brush recommendation

James,
Use any brush that works for you. For myself, I use 5 cent throw away brushes. Since the brush is just used as a carrier to get the finish close to the guide without really touching the thread; there is not a lot of pressure to use high quality brushes. Be safe Re: Brush recommendation

Yes, me too I use the 5 cent throw-aways for the same reasons as Roger. Re: Brush recommendation

I just like to use the same square end 1/4" artist brush over and over. They only cost a couple dollars and last forever or until you forget to wipe it and throw it in the jar of brush cleaner. If it needs to be thinner I turn it sideways so it only 1/8" wide. Greg Aptos, CA Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 10/24/2013 08:01PM by Greg Foy. Re: Brush recommendation

Spatula for me. Flexible metal artists spatula gets reused over and over. If I forget to wipe it off, I just heat it up and peel off the old stuff. Good control for crisp edges.

Not sure it matters but I would use the widest or largest brush you can handle. That way it only takes one or two revolutions of the rod to coat the wrap. Sometimes I use two brushes. A larger one down on the butt wraps and lower guides and a smaller or narrower one up on the mid and tip guides. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
