Thanks to all of you that have supported us over the years and continue to do so! We've made a bunch of new friends and customers via the RodBuilding.Org forum and have always been grateful for the open and honest feedback we have received from this site. We could use your thoughts again on any additional stabilized or unstabilized woods that you would like to see on our website over and above our current inventory. Any additional colors or sizes? We are about out of Box Elder Burl and are having one HECK of a hard time finding any decent Box Elder Burl to process. Many of you have asked us about that. We'll keep you posted on the Box Elder. Your comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

In the northeast Box Elder (Acer negundo) is considered a "weed" tree and its cultivation is banned by many city ordinances. Box elders are pollution resistant, fast growing, and often infected with growths that result in burls in the wood. With this pent-up demand has anyone begun to raise Box Elder commercially? Phil: We're not aware of anyone growing this commercialy, We've done some checking on the internet and haven't found anything. Box Elder is fairly common here in the midwest as well. The Burl is the tough thing to locate in any quality and quantity. Hopefully some of the forum members can help point us in the right direction. Thank you for your suggestion!

Jim: Thank you! We know nothing about Bamboo rings. Can you give us a bit of an education on them? We'll put the search on for them. Diameter, thickness, types of bamboo, etc.

Not sure if I am allowed to mention the name here. Hemp might be another material very strong and light and most likely stable as well, the type they made rope from.
