After putting cork grips on a new build I noticed that some of the rings on the grip were starting to separate. What can be done to fill the gaps between a few rings?.I don`t want it to be very noticeable. Re: Cork grip

Is this a grip you built, or a commercial grip? If you built it, what adhesive did you use? In either case, unless the wrong adhesive was used the rings should not seoerate unless the grip is loose on the blank. If the grip was reamed to the proper taper and the entire grip was epoxied to the blank, there is no way the rings should seoerate. One possible repair would be to flow Titebond adhesive into the cracks and then compress the grip to squeeze out as much adhesive as possible, which should make the gaps un-noticeable.
Still curious why they are sperating, sounds like they were not well glued together in the first place. Re: Cork grip

It is a commercial rear grip and there are gaps between some of the rings. I want to remedy the situation before the rings start to separate.I need a glue that will dry clear and not leave too much of a shine. Re: Cork grip

How large are these gaps? If they're only slits, then I'd inject or smear some Titebond II or III into them, clamp the handle to squeeze the rings tight, and then wipe the excess off with a wet towel.
If the gaps are fairly open and large, I'd consider mixing in some cork dust with a two-part epoxy and filling the gaps that way. Don't clamp, just let the epoxy fill the openings. ............... Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
