factory rod sticker

the edges of the rod sticker peeled up on two of the last three rods I've built. I put on a thin finish of pro kote and let dry. then I apply the sticker and another layer of pro kote. as the rod turn on the dryer (9rpm) I can see edges of the sticker begin to lift up. I use the same process for the decal connection stickers I use and no problems. what am I doing wrong?

Mick,
I have found that with the regular pro kote that it is too thin when initially mixed to apply directly to a decal area. I generally let it stand for 10 - 15 minutes after mixing to avoid this issue.

I always apply color preserver around the edges and let dry before adding a topcoat. It holds the decal edges down.

Mick,

I use ProKote exclusively and I spray all decals with two light coats of Krylon Crystal Clear before applying ProKote and that stopped all of the curling issues.

x2 on the color preserver, just need to seal the edge of the decals.

I use two coats of cp before epoxying decals. one should do it, but why take a chance?
