Hi all might be a silly question but if I use the flexcoat color preserve and thread sealer do I need to use an epoxy on the wrap as well?
Is this product an all in one?
Thank you
Andi robb

no question is silly Andi
the color preserver is a completely different product, and has virtually no gluing strength. you really need to put finish on your wraps (epoxy, or urethane, whatever floats your boat ^^)

Hi Andi,
Wouldn't do it for a customer or anybody else but have replaced guides on rods of mine and only used cp with no finish due to a rush or laziness. Used a couple of these rods a lot for several yerars without finish and the guides held up fine. Have also heard on this forum that I'm not the only one to do it and the same results have applied. However thread will hold up a lot bettter if it has got epoxy or urethane to give it some protection but it isn't absolutely necessary. The bindings definitely look a lot better with finish on them and will last for a lifetime. I doubt that would be the case if only cp was used.
