Looks like they have changed it completly. Not sure I like it as well as the previous one. Navigating through the new one is not at all instinctive, looks like it is done by a Graphic Designer without user influence.
Also, all the links are not working, I'm getting "error message 404" page not available. As I use the site very frequently, I hope they get this staightened out quickly! Re: Batson - factory web site??

I wonder if this is a work in progress? It seems to somewhat load for me, but with errors. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 10/07/2013 12:27PM by John E Powell. Re: Batson - factory web site??

An e-mail reply from Karry Batson, when I asked about the site:
------------------- Yes we are working hard to make this new site amazing in every way but had to start with this look to get things rolling, stay tuned. ¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬Sincerely, Karry Re: Batson - factory web site??

I like it. It's clean, modern and intuitive. Very professional. You can download the catalogs by way of PDF and keep them stored locally. Re: Batson - factory web site??

I disagree Matt, I find it not at all intuitive, and I've been involved in web sites for many years. Also catalogs were available for download on the former site as well.
I believe Batson is customer oriented, so look forward to them improving it's usability. Re: Batson - factory web site??

I can't find the Rainshadow fly rod blanks. Are they not making fly rod blanks? Re: Batson - factory web site??

You have to look in the "catalog" now. Re: Batson - factory web site??

We must all be looking at different versions of the website??? The one I see has only five sub menu's across the top with drop down links that take you right where you want to go.
It's obviously not complete, and they probably shouldn't have made it live until it was complete to avoid all confusion, but it has the framework for a very clean website. Re: Batson - factory web site??

I never seen anything wrong with the old site
They COULD have asked if builders wanted something added or changed My broker has been working on a new Streamer to watch stocks move --- FOR THREE YEARS --- PLUS it still needs a LOT of fixing Did you Bill - willierods.com Edited 1 time(s). I don't like it for now because you have to review their parts supply like you would the catalog. I liked the pull down menu to quickly get to the section you wanted not paging the on-line version. I'm sure it will improve, but it should have been more functional before it went live. I'd also like to see all three catalogs combined into one searchable database not three separate. As Karry told us in the e-mail.
The current web site that you see right now, is basically a shell of the web site that they are heading toward: He indicated that they have much left to do to make the web site into the polished site that they are striving to obtain. Be safe Re: Batson - factory web site??

Batson is a very customer oriented firm, they will get it right! Hopefully they are asking customers how they use the site and what they like and dislike. New software rollouts often have bugs, lets be patient. Re: Batson - factory web site??

I agree with Phil. Having to download a large PDF file just to look for a specific component is not acceptable. They need to fix it. Re: Batson - factory web site??

Lots of notes on the site explaining that the PDF downloads are temporary and the available components and blank descriptions will be up on the site soon.
I would think they could have made this a little less painless to customers by completing most of the work before the new roll out, however I suspect that the product development was ahead of the IT work and they were sort of forced to do this interim step to keep up with the product changes. I'm sure they will get there. Terry Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
